Minnesota produces delicious apples which in turn make great cider! The cider scene has exploded in the last 5-10 years and we are spoiled for choice. I first got into cider while living in London where it’s a huge part of the culture. Any I’ve tried in Minnesota rival or exceed what I had in England.  Below are the top 8 cideries to check out this fall (or any time of year!):

Updated to include a bonus 9th cidery! Based on hearing from many about this spot after this article came out, we had to check it out!

1. Thor’s Hard Cider

Stillwater, Minnesota

Thor’s is located at Aamodt’s Apple Farm in Stillwater so you can also pick apples and sample wines at Saint Croix Vineyards. Since the outdoor tables are well spaced, you can maintain your distance while enjoying your beverages. The perfect outing!

2. Sapsucker Farms Yellow Belly Cidery

Mora, Minnesota

Sapsucker Farms is a really fun farm setting out in the country – you’ll drive a little ways on a unpaved road to get there. Some people pulled up in their farm vehicles from neighboring farms even! The outdoor tables overlook the farm and it’s a really relaxing environment. After enjoying your beverage and perhaps meal from the food truck that’s known to park there, you can walk around the farm.

3. Milk & Honey Ciders

St. Joseph, MN

Milk & Honey is located just outside of St. Cloud and sits within the orchard! Their ciders tend to be drier and more aromatic and we enjoyed every flavor we sampled. Combine a visit here with a longer day trip to St. Cloud – check out my guide here!

4. Duluth Cider

Duluth, Minnesota

They experiment with unique flavors which makes it one of the most fun places to visit (think Thin Mint and Arnie Palmer style ciders!). We sat outdoors at the spaced-out tables and ordered from a window into the main building. Pair this stop with the next one for a fun outing!

5. Wild State Cider

Duluth, Minnesota

Wild State has the most beautiful interior and great vibes overall. The raspberry hibiscus cider was my favorite but all the drinks we sampled were delicious. Make sure to order a warm soft pretzel to enjoy with your beverage!

6. Minneapolis Cider Company

Minneapolis, MN

Located just north of the Stone Arch Bridge, Minneapolis Cider Company is a really fun spot to visit in the cities. The Mango Habanero and the Raspberry were my favorites. They also have a cider slushie which is perfect on a warmer day! Just ask what the flavor of the day is. The other cool part of MCC is their pickleball courts you can reserve for $40/hour and enjoy your drinks at while playing. A fun activity especially in the winter!

7. Number 12 Cider

Minneapolis, MN

Number 12 is the first place I tried a cider slushie – the Black Market flavor was phenomenal! Little Tomato woodfire pizza truck parks on site too so you can enjoy a pizza and cider night out!

8. Sociable Cider Werks

Minneapolis, MN

The original cidery, Social Cider Werks has been around since 2013 and has one of the best patios to enjoy their delicious drinks on. It’s also super easy to park your bike on site. The often have events, such as yoga + tastings, which are really fun to join.

9. Keepsake Cidery

Dundas, MN

Bonus! So many reached out to say we had to visit Keepsake Cidery after I published the original list so we made a daytrip of it and visited Northfield, Faribault and ended the day at the beautiful Keepsake Cidery. We had a flight to try a few and enjoyed them on the patio overlooking the expansive property. My favorite was the Currant Medium and I bought a bottle to take home! They frequently have fun food events so check their website for what’s upcoming. They always have toasties and snacks available too!
