Snell Motors

We love roadtripping around Minnesota and while Up North gets so much attention, southern Minnesota has so many unique areas to explore. We recently did a southern Minnesota road trip and discovered incredible spots everyone should add to their list.

Our recent roadtrip was extra special as we drove the new Yukon XL from Snell Motors (located in Mankato). To say we loved it is an understatement! Here are my top 7 favorite features that made it the perfect family roadtrip car for us:

  1. Panoramic sunroof – lots of natural lighting
  2. Large displays (front and 2nd row)
  3. Generous interior space and captain seats in the 2nd row
  4. Automatic features: back gate, folding 3rd row seats, runner boards
  5. Super Cruise® hands-free driver assistance
  6. Comforts such as heated and ventilated seats and a heated steering wheel
  7. Parking assistance / cameras from multiple angles – super helpful to see parking space lines from a Birds Eye view!

Check out Snell Motors for your GMC and Buick vehicle needs!

These features and more were enjoyed on our southern Minnesota road trip to these spots:

Rochester

While a few hours isn’t enough, Rochester is fun to visit for any length of time. We love grabbing coffee from Aqui Coffee located inside Sargent’s Greenhouse. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing! Then we enjoyed breakfast at the classic Hollandberry. Make sure to get a panekoeken!

Mystery Cave State Park

Mystery Cave State Park in Spring Valley has to be one of the most underrated state parks in Minnesota! To be able to take an underground tour to see unique cave features was incredible. Make sure to reserve your tour in advance as they do sell out.

Four Daughters Winery

One of the most scenic wineries in Minnesota is Four Daughters in Spring Valley. And bonus – they also sell Loon Juice cider! Don’t skip the delicious food items – we loved the giant pretzel and salad.

Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm

Pizza Farms are become more popular and Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm in Waseca is one of the original locations in the state. Their pizzas (both savory and dessert) are delicious and fresh as they’re wood fired right on site. The farm setting with animals, string lights and oftentimes live music is so fun. Make sure to add this stop to your summer list!

Mankato

Mom & Pops Mankato

Mankato is another city that you could easily spend multiple days exploring. On this trip, we checked out Mom & Pop’s for their famous ice cream flights. I love that they have a vegan oat milk option which tasted incredible.

Mankato is also where Snell Motors is located – check them out for your upcoming GMC, Cadillac and needs.

What else would you add to your southern Minnesota road trip? Happy exploring!
